HS ROUNDUP: Mulderig Helps Lady Knights End Slide

Colette Mulderig had 20 points and eight rebounds to lead Scranton to a 40-36 win over Stroudsburg in a non-league girls basketball game Saturday.

Ky’Ahni Harbin had 14 rebounds for the Lady Knights, who snapped an eight-game losing streak.

Tristyn Bodie, Andrew Howell, Pete West, Ethan Chokshi, Brandon Lawson and Jake Kabonick each went 5-0 to lead Honesdale to 5-0 record at the Lackawanna Trail Duals on Saturday.

Anthony Steffens, Tim Dailey, Justin LoBasso and Zack Beatty went 4-1 for the Hornets.

John Shnipes and Mason Kordish went 5-0 to lead Valley View to a 3-2 mark at the tournament. Noah Clifford went 4-0, while Jack Baronski and Kyle Novajosky went 4-1 for the Cougars.

Joe Hester and Bryan Ryan posted 5-0 records to lead Montrose to a 3-2 finish.

Nick Harder, Andrew Rosevear and Marc Avila each went 4-1 for the Meteors.

Michael Bluhm went 6-0 for Lackawanna Trail, which had a 3-3 record.

Dalton Deacon went 5-1, while Dalton Klinges, Kody Cresswell, Colin Mulhern, Bryce VanFleet and Tynell Bracero added 4-2 records for the Lions.

Antonio D`Appolonio finished 5-0 as Scranton Prep 2-3 for the tournament.

Joe Monahan went 4-1, Jack Lynett finished 3-1 and Bradyn and Bryce Genello each went 3-2.

Nathan Ofalt led Mountain View with a 3-2 record as the Eagles went 0-5 on the day.

Swimming

Alison Prushinski, Lauren Schofield, Haley Thier and Peyton McNulty set meet records in the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay as Scranton Prep won its first Big 8 girls championship at Central York.

In the 200 medley relay, the group set meet and pool records, finishing in 1:48.5 and also set a meet record in winning the 200 free relay in 1:38.99. Schofield also finished first in the 200 IM and 500 freestyle for the Classics while Thier set a meet record in the 100 butterfly and finished second in the 50 freestyle. Prushinski was second in the 100 freestyle and the 100 backstroke and fifth in the 100 breaststroke and McNulty finished first in the 100 breaststroke and was third in the 100 backstroke.

Abby Bowen was fifth in the 200 IM, Taylor Newton was fifth in the 200 freestyle and sixth in the 100 butterfly and Corinne McCall was fifth in the 500 freestyle and sixth in the 200 freestyle. Bowen, Newton, McCall and Erica Prushinski were fifth in the 400 free relay.

The Scranton Prep boys team finished eighth overall. Nathan Thayer tied for sixth in the 50 freestyle and Ethan Haggerty was fifth in the 500 freestyle. Thayer, Haggerty, Ben Galko and Harrison Oven were sixth in the 200 free relay.
