Scranton Police Charge Two People With Drug Offenses After Traffic Stop

SCRANTON — City police will charge two people with drug offenses after a traffic stop Wednesday night.

Members of the city police Street Crimes Unit stopped a car at the intersection of Providence Road and Diamond Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. Police will file charges against two passengers, Ruth Taylor, 54, and Eugene Taylor, 53, both of 802 Luzerne Ave. , West Pittston, after police found a crack rock weighing 1.1 grams in a cigarette pack in Eugene Taylor’s pocket and marijuana on Ruth Taylor’s person, police said.

Eugene Taylor will be charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and Ruth Taylor with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia via summons, police said.
