ATHENS, Ga. (AP) _ Tony Pierce and Mike Bobo became the latest assistants hired by new Georgia coach Mark Richt.
Pierce, co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach at Wake Forest last season, will handle the Bulldogs running backs, while Bobo _ a former Georgia quarterback _ was also hired Wednesday as quarterbacks coach.
Bobo returns to his alma mater after serving as quarterbacks coach at Jacksonville State in Alabama.
Pierce was an assistant at West Virginia from 1997-99, working two years with running backs and one year with the secondary. He also was secondary coach at Pittsburgh for two seasons (1995-96) and defensive coordinator and secondary coach at Delaware State in 1994.
Pierce is the seventh of nine assistant coaches hired by new Bulldogs coach Mark Richt.
