DENVER (AP) _ Chris Carrieri scored three goals in the second half to lead the Colorado Rapids to a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Fire on Thursday night.

Carrieri, a halftime replacement for Jeff Stewart, twice tied the game and then scored the game-winner in the 88th minute, his sixth goal of the season.

Mark Chung had two assists for Colorado (6-7-2).

Ante Razov and Jason Moore scored for Chicago (5-7-2), which lost its third straight.

The teams play again on Sunday in Chicago.

Razov beat goalkeeper David Kramer in the seventh minute. Carrieri tied the game in the 57th minute when he converted a give-and-go pass from Chung.

The Fire regained the lead in the 70th minute on Moore's left-footed shot from 19 yards. Carrieri made it 2-2 in the 82nd minute.

Chung set up the game-winner with a crossing pass to Carrieri, who beat goalkeeper Zach Thornton from 20 yards out.

Razov received his second yellow card in the 45th minute and had to leave the game. Colorado lost captain John Spencer to a red card in the 35th minute for elbowing referee Noel Kenny.
