Ronald Willers Sr.
NELIGH — Services for Ronald D. Willers Sr., 85, Neligh, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Neligh United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bruce Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Wayne with military rites.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh.
He died Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, in Tilden.
Ronald Dallas Willers Sr. was born on Jan. 5, 1933, to Elmer and Rachel (Heineman) Willers at Cuming County. He attended country schools through eighth grade. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on Feb. 26, 1952, at Omaha and was discharged on May 27, 1960, from Loring Air Force Base in Maine. He went into trade college at Santa Rosa Junior College.
On March 17, 1961, was united in marriage to Dorothy Thompson at Williams, Calif. They moved to Nebraska in 1982. He enjoyed fishing and doing mechanical work on cars and lawn mowers. He was a member of the Clearwater American Legion Post 267.
Survivors include his children, Catherine and Galen Niehues of Rushville, Ronald Jr. and Shellie Willers of Norfolk and Penny and William Kiehl of Tilden; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and his brothers and sisters, Sylvia McAuliffe of Schuyler, Larry and Carol Willers of Wayne, Irene Fielder of Buda, Texas, and Randy and Valerie Willers of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by parents; his spouse; his sisters, Barbara Forth and Betty Rice; and his nieces and nephews.
