Letter: We’re better off under President Trump

September 4, 2018

A civics lesson seems to be needed to review the purpose of each of the three branches of our federal government.

The legislative branch is responsible to enact laws. The executive branch is responsible to enforce all laws. The judicial branch is responsible to interpret laws according to our Constitution — nothing more. Any opinions otherwise, whether by media or individuals, are simply wrong.

For the first time in my lifetime, we have a president that is doing his job. He is enforcing all laws, not picking and choosing. We have Congress men and women criticizing him for enforcing the laws they created instead of changing those laws. And the media is championing their rhetoric — fake news. Those same Congress men and women won’t approve a Supreme Court nominee unless they agree to make decisions based on their party agenda, not the Constitution.

In spite of the critics, since President Donald Trump took office, absolutely every American citizen is better off. You can live in denial but you are still better off.
