Bills cornerback Ron Brooks released from hospital
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills cornerback Ron Brooks has been discharged from a Detroit hospital after suffering a neck injury in Sunday’s game against the Lions.
The Bills said Monday that Brooks is able to walk. He flew back to Buffalo with an athletic trainer Monday afternoon.
Brooks suffered the injury following a collision on a punt return eight minutes into the first quarter. He collided with Lions safety Jerome Couplin while covering a punt. After being hit low, Brooks launched into the air, spun upside down and landed directly on his head. He was carted off the field.
Biss coach Doug Marrone says it’s comforting to hear he’s been released after the scary way Brooks fell.
The 25-year-old Brooks is in his third year with the Bills. He has six tackles.
