Raleigh man charged with stealing $50,000 in gold bars, silver coins from safe
An 18-year-old recently broke into a north Raleigh home, cracked a safe there and carried off $30,000 in gold bars and $20,000 in silver coins that were in the safe, according to an arrest warrant.
Brandon Michael Manchester, of 2129 Sheffield Road in Raleigh, was charged Tuesday with breaking and entering, safecracking and larceny after breaking and entering. He was being held in the Wake County jail under $10,000 bond.
According to a warrant, Manchester broke into the home off Lead Mine Road between Jan. 28 and Feb. 5. In addition to the gold and silver, he stole an iPad from the home, the warrant states.
