Patrol: Valentine man arrested, accused of killing wife

VALENTINE, Neb. (AP) — The Nebraska State Patrol says a northern Nebraska man has been arrested in the shooting death of his wife.

A news release from the patrol says the shooting happened Monday in Valentine. Police in Valentine contacted the patrol after they were called to a house for a report of a shooting around 7 p.m. Police say officers found 71-year-old Pamela Nickisch dead. Her husband, 70-year-old Paul Nickisch, and a minor grandson were also in the home.

Investigators determined that Paul Nickisch shot Pamela Nickisch in a domestic violence incident. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into the Cherry County Jail, where he remained Wednesday.
