Special meetings scheduled to discuss New Milford roads
Three special meetings have been scheduled to discuss the capital road project in New Milford next week.
The workshops will be at 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in the E. Paul Martin Room in Town Hall.
Each meeting will have a review of the road program by the municipal road committee, a review of the design by the town engineer and a discussion about the road design approach from the consultant engineers.
There will be a chance for the public to comment at each meeting.
Nine roads are included in the next round of road projects, which will begin in the spring. The work includes a mix of regular paving and reconstruction over the 8.9 miles. It is expected to cost $7.4 million.
Survey work has been completed for all of the roads. Design work has been awarded for Fordyce Road, Geiger Road and McNulty Drive, Long Mountain Road and Second Hill Road. Bids are out for the design work for Erickson Road, Picket District Road, Mist Hill Drive and Overlook Drive.
