3 Boise St. Basketball Players Bolt Team
BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ Three Boise State basketball players are leaving the program and another has been suspended for Friday’s game at the University of Portland.
Freshmen Larry Davidson and Darius Harper and junior Mattias Johansson will no longer be members of the team, coach Greg Graham announced Wednesday.
Davidson, a 6-foot-10 forward, was redshirted last season after having surgery on both knees. He never recovered enough to play and will return to his native Australia.
Harper, a 6-1 guard, is leaving the team for ``personal reasons.″ He will remain in school until the end of the fall semester.
Johansson, a 7-foot center, has been declared ineligible after the team learned he violated NCAA rules by playing in a professional league in Europe.
Bryan Defares, a 6-4 senior, has been suspended one game for playing in a non-sanctioned summer league game. He played in just one game this summer and must sit out the Broncos’ regular season opener.
