Rain today, snow Thursday

November 13, 2018

A cold rain is falling heavily throughout the area particularly in Torrington and Meriden.

However it is expected to stop by the afternoon.

But don’t get too comfortable.

Gil Simmons of WTNH-TV and Bill Jacquemin of the Connecticut Weather Center are predicting light snow and a wintry mix for much of the state during Thursday afternoon before changing to rain in the evening.

Some areas of the state could get as much as one to four inches of a sloppy, slipper mix, Simmons is telling his viewers.

But the first hint of snow may come as flurries on Wednesday afternoon when temperatures will hit the mid-30s during the day and the 20s and below at night.

It won’t last long. Rain will follow the snow and continue into Friday morning. Saturday and Sunday look sunny with temperatures struggling to reach the 40s.
