WR Roell Preston caught six passes for 65 yards and a touchdown in loss to San Francisco. Running backs Jamal Anderson and Craig Heyward combined for 122 of the 126 yards rushing last week. TE Pete Metzelaars replaced David Sloan, who injured knee last week.

QB Scott Mitchell was 21-of-32 for 230 yards and two touchdowns in win over Buccaneers. RB Barry Sanders paced rushing attack with 73 yards on 15 carries.

LB Jessie Tuggle had seven solo tackles in loss to San Francisco. Team did not record sack or turnover vs. 49ers. Allowing 30 points per game, up from last season, when they allowed 22.

Team forced four turnovers and two sacks vs. Buccaneers. Held Tampa Bay to 226 yards of offense. S Bennie Blades had 98-yard interception return for touchdown and seven tackles in shutout vs. Tampa Bay. Linebacker Tom Beer made first start in place of injured Antonio London. Rookie DE Kerwin Waldroup made debut for Tracy Scroggins.
