Accidental drowning determined as cause of death on lake on Saturday
The cause of death of a Lake Havasu City man who died in the lake Saturday morning was due to an accidental drowning.
According to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office, Dr. Archiaus Mosley performed an autopsy of 59-year-old Edward Young Monday morning and made the determination.
According to the County Sheriff’s Office, Young was found in Thompson Bay, about 75 feet from the shore and in 10 feet of water.
The office said Young had been operating his remote-controlled boat in the area. Deputies were called to the area of Patrick Tinnell Memorial Skate Park after personal items were found on the shoreline. Dive teams located Young shortly afterward.
Deputies believe Young may have crashed his remote-controlled watercraft Saturday morning, and attempted to swim after it.
