Artspace launches first gallery exhibit of the year
MICHIGAN CITY — Artspace Uptown Artist Lofts will be open during First Friday, March 1, beginning at 5 p.m. featuring the solo show “Oil & Water” by artist Lizzie Bar. This show marks the first gallery exhibition of the year for UAL as well as the first solo exhibit by the artist.
Bar is an Artspace resident artist originally from Long Beach. She has been an avid painter for more than 20 years
“I’ve always loved to draw growing up, but started painting when I was 10,” Bar said. “What got me started was my grandma. She was my biggest encouragement. She’d give me postcards from friends who would travel and I used those to paint from.”
Lizzie specializes in landscape and impressionist works created with the mediums of oil paints and watercolors on canvas. Additionally, there will be hand-painted note cards for sale.
The residents of Artspace are excited to launch their 2019 exhibition itinerary which will be available shortly!
