Vernadene Joyce Zigtema, 81, of Casa Grande, Ariz., passed away April 16, 2019, at her home in Casa Grande, surrounded by family.
She was born in Clifton, on March 5, 1938. Vernadene married Richard Zigtema on Nov. 2, 1957.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Richard Zigtema; parents, Vernon and Darlene Schuler; and brothers, Glenn, Leland, Irving and Mark Schuler.
Surviving are two sons, Brian (Millie) Zigtema, of Monee; Bruce (Chris) Zigtema, of Tehachapi, Calif.; and one daughter, Tari Daub, of Casa Grande, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, David (Donna) Zigtema, Gregory (Kristen) Zigtema, Bradley Zigtema, Nina ( Andrew) Grubbs, Michael (Hannah) Zigtema, Natalie (Vincent ) Perez, Theresa (Casey) Hahaj and Olivia Zigtema, Brandon (Nicole) Daub and Rachel Daub; and 12 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Kinzie, Deeghan, Landon, Owen, Scarlett, Nicholas, Dylan, Lucas, Samantha, Tyler and Colton.
Vernadene was a seamstress who enjoyed quilting. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Illinois and California. She was currently a member of First Presbyterian Church in Casa Grande, Ariz.
A memorial services will be at 6 p.m. June 12, 2019, at First Presbyterian Church, 334 S. Saint Louis Ave., St. Anne.
