Reno man arrested after 3-hour standoff with SWAT team
RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno police have arrested a man who held a SWAT team at bay for three hours in a home near a park on the city’s northeast side.
Police say they responded to a call Wednesday night at the home near Pat Baker Park about a man involved in an assault with a deadly weapon and a stolen vehicle. The man had fled by the time officers arrived.
On Thursday, code enforcement officials were called to the home regarding a sewage leak in the backyard. They condemned the house but determined the suspect was hiding inside and police surrounded the residence.
Police say 26-year-old Tim Wilson was booked on suspicion of the assault and vehicle charges as well as an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a court order. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
