WVC BOYS SOCCER ROUNDUP: Valley West Wins 5th In A Row

At Spartan Stadium, Nate Naugle, Landon Serbin and Badu Jallow all scored before halftime as Valley West won its fifth game in a row, 3-0, over Pittston Area on Thursday in Wyoming Valley Conference boys soccer.

Naugle and Scott Nilson also tallied an assist in the shutout, the first of the year for the Spartans (5-2, 4-1 Division 1).

Kyle Mlodzienski tallied 16 saves for the Patriots (0-7-1, 0-6-1 Division 1).

At Nanticoke Area, Zach Holthaus tied his season high with five goals as the Mountaineers (6-1 Division 1) set their own season high in goals for a game.

Beaudyn Lewis tallied two goals and an assist, and Vlad Gingo had a goal and two assists. Kyle Greenwood didn’t have a shot on goal to stop in his fifth shutout of the year.

Isaiah Johnson made 13 saves for Nanticoke Area (1-8, 1-7 Division 1).

At Hazleton Area, the Cougars went up on Anibal Delgado’s goal but settled for a tie when Lukas Heylek answered with a goal for Coughlin (1-4-2 Division 1).

Jeremy Aquino tallied 15 saves for Hazleton Area (3-2-2, 3-2-1 Division 1). David Sikora made eight stops for the Crusaders.
