MCC to move forward with roof repairs
SCOTTVILLE — Repairs will be underway this summer following a school board decision to contract with G. Freeland Roofing of Ludington to replace a portion of the roof at the Mason County Central High School building.
Trustees voted unanimously to approve a $176,150 bid from G. Freeland Monday at the high school during a school board meeting, according to MCC Superintendent Jeff Mount.
Mount said the G. Freeland bid was the lowest of four the district received for the project.
The other bids came from Great Lakes Systems, Versatile Roofing and J. Stevens Construction.
Mount said the work — which will focus on replacing a portion of the roof above the school’s B and C hall — will begin sometime during the summer.
“(G. Freeland) was the only one of the four who could start this summer,” Mount told the Daily News on Tuesday. “I don’t have an exact timeline for that yet, but I know it will be done during summer break.”
