Tourney goes on without Marshall

HUNTINGTON — Conference USA’s volleyball championship is being decided this week at Marshall University without the Thundering Herd in the lineup.

Marshall (10-19 overall) was 10th in the final conference standings at 3-11 and didn’t finish in the top eight to get in the tournament that begins Friday in Cam Henderson Center.

Tickets can be purchased at HerdZone.com. Daily admission is $10 for adults and $5 for youth age 12 and younger.

All-tournament passes are $20 for adults and $10 for youth.

Donation tickets are available that will be given to qualifying area youth teams and also earn the buyer one bonus Big Green Scholarship Foundation priority point.

All tournament games are broadcast on ESPN+.

R ice (21-6, 1 2-2 C-USA) claimed the regular season title and is seeded No. 1. Western Kentucky (20-9, 11-3) is the four-time defending champion seeded second.

The champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
