KUUSAMO, Finland (AP) _ Jakub Janda won the World Cup season opener Saturday with a single ski jump, and Robert Kranjec captured his first career win with two jumps.

Janne Ahonen, the defending World Cup champion from Finland, had two second-place finishes.

Janda won at 140.5 meters for 155.4 points, followed by Ahonen at 138.5 and Kranjec at 137.5.

In the second competition, also held at Ruka’s large hill under lights, Kranjec jumped 144.5 and 135 meters for 305.6 points. Ahonen collected 299.7 points for second and Michael Uhrmann of Germany was third.
