Special services

Quakers (Religious Society of Friends) will hold services Sunday, Dec. 2, at 3315 Thread Needle Road W., Augusta. Worship in silence begins at 10 a.m., followed by refreshments and Second Hour Discussion. Visitors are welcome. Rocksville Baptist Church, Gloverville, will hold a pastor’s appreciation service for the Rev. William H. Cooker Sr. at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2. The Rev. Ronnie Williams will be the guest speaker.

St. Paul Lutheran Church will hold Advent Services at 7 p.m. Wednesdays, Dec. 5, 12 and 19. A supper will be served at 5:30 p.m. The service, “Prayer Around the Cross,” will be a 25-30 minute combination of music, reading and prayer with a short sermon. The service is child friendly. Nursery will be provided from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m.

The Historical Silver Bluff Baptist Church of Beech Island, 360 Old Jackson Highway, Jackson, will hold its candlelight service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16. Pastor David Mitchem of Park Missionary Baptist Church of Beech Island will deliver the message. Marvin Morgan is the pastor.

Revivals

Evangelist Carrie Almeida will hold a two-day crusade at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, and 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at the Hope Center at the Fullness of Christ Christian Center, 3 Hickman St., Graniteville. Evangelist Willie Lewis from Durham, N.C., will be the guest preacher.

The Midland Gospel Singing Center, 705 Martin Smith Road, Gilbert, will hold its monthly gospel singing at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. The Epps Family and the Lumber River Quartet will perform.
