UNDATED (AP) — The Baltimore Orioles have signed pitcher Chris Tillman to a $3 million, one-year contract that includes performance bonuses. He likely will join right-handers Dylan Bundy, Kevin Gausman and Andrew Cashner in the rotation. Tillman was 1-7 with a 7.84 ERA in 19 starts and five relief appearances last year.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The San Francisco Giants say Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda (seh-PAY’-duh) remains hospitalized in critical condition after a cardiac incident. The 80-year-old was taken to a Bay Area hospital late Monday. A seven-time All-Star who played in three World Series, Cepeda was the 1958 NL Rookie of the Year with San Francisco and NL MVP in 1967 with St. Louis. In 1961, he led the NL with 46 homers and 142 RBIs. Cepeda was a .297 career hitter with 379 home runs.

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — Free agent cornerback Vontae Davis has met with the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders about upgrading their secondaries. A person familiar with Davis’ plans says he met with the Raiders and 49ers over the past two days. Davis is a two-time Pro Bowler who is on the open market after being released by Indianapolis last November.

UNDATED (AP) — Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane says he fully expects to be dealt before the NHL’s trading deadline hits Monday. Kane says he’s been preparing to be dealt all season long. Kane is in the final year of his contract and not considered a long-term fit for the last-place Eastern Conference team. Also in hockey, the Montreal Canadiens have traded defenseman Jakub Jerabek to the Washington Capitals for a 2019 fifth-round pick.

DALLAS (AP) —The NBA has fined outspoken Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban $600,000 for comments about tanking during a podcast with Hall of Famer Julius Erving. Commissioner Adam Silver said the fine was for “public statements detrimental to the NBA.” The podcast with Erving was posted Sunday, the day the All-Star game was played in Los Angeles. Cuban said that he met recently with some of his players and told them “losing is our best option.”
