Pistons’ owner partners with Toys for Tots for holiday event
DETROIT (AP) — Pistons owner Tom Gores is working with Toys for Tots to supply toys to families at Christmas.
Toys for Tots says approximately 10,000 toys, bicycles and helmets will be distributed to families in Detroit, Flint, Saginaw, Bay City and surrounding area, thanks to a contribution from Gores. His family paid for an event Thursday at Detroit’s Eastern Market, where families had a chance to pick toys.
Gores’ partnership with Toys for Tots began in 2009. He says it’s important to bring smiles to kids’ faces during the holidays.
He says he’s proud to be a partner with a great organization.
