WESTHAMPTON, N.Y. (AP) — Experts have been working to determine what caused the death of a 37-foot humpback whale found on a Long Island beach.

The female whale was found on Sunday at Cupsogue Beach County Park in Westhampton.

According to Newsday , the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society says it’s the first large whale to strand in New York this year.
