Hanover 45, DePauw 25
HANOVER, Ind. (AP) _ Terry Peebles passed for 439 yards and seven touchdowns Saturday as Hanover beat DePauw 45-25 in the Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Peebles, who completed 23-of-37 passes, threw TD passes of 30, 85, 35, 2, 2, 15 and 79 yards. Four different receivers caught touchdown passes from Peebles, who also rushed for 74 yards on 14 carries.
The two teams combined for 914 yards, with Hanover outgaining DePauw 542-372.
Hanover (5-0, 1-0 in the ICAC) opened scoring with a 30-yard scoring pass from Peebles to Josh Habegger with 8:05 to play in the first quarter.
DePauw (2-3, 0-2) took a 12-7 lead after Jon Holloway returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and then Mark Melchiorre ran for a 6-yard TD.
Peebles then led the Panthers to 38 unanswered points, beginning with an 85-yard pass to Scott Keefer and ending with a 79-yard TD strike to Keefer. In between, Habegger caught a 35-yarder, Nick Roudebush caught a pair of 2-yarders and Ben Fox caught a 15-yard TD pass.
DePauw quarterback Jon Clippinger threw two TD passes to Jamie Cunha (11 and 26 yards) in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring. Clippinger completed 18-of-36 passes for 228 yards.
