Manistee police arrest 17-year-old found in possession of numerous stolen items
Edward Alan Mousseau, 17, of Manistee has been arrested on charges of three counts of breaking and entering, receiving and concealing a stolen firearms, receiving and concealing stolen property and two counts of theft of a financial transaction device.
According to the Manistee Police Department, the investigation began Friday after police were dispatched to a party complaint and found Mousseau to be in possession of a stolen handgun at the same party.
Upon further investigation, Officer Raul Vasquez and Officer Brian Cook developed information hat lead to the recovery of items that had been stolen from vehicles and garages in Manistee and Manistee County.
Manistee Police Chief Tim Kozal said that Mousseau was found to be in possession from several items including tools, lap tops, debit cards, cash and a three-wheeled trike.
Police said Mousseau admitted to the thefts that had occurred during the past several months.
Mousseau remains in the Manistee County Jail on two separate case file bonds of $30,000, 10 percent.
The Manistee Police Department reminds residents to be diligent with their vehicles and outbuildings as many of these incidents were a result of unlocked doors.
