PD: Stratford teen allegedly had ecstasy pills during traffic stop
WESTPORT — A Stratford teen was arrested and charged after cops pulled over a car the teen was a passenger in and found she was in possession of ecstasy pills, police said.
Colby Peters, 18, of Stratford, was charged with possession a controlled substance.
A Westport police officer saw a car headed south on the Sherwood Island Connector that drove through two stop signs without coming to a complete stop before hopping on Interstate 95 north, police said.
Officers pulled the car over on I-95. A backseat passenger, later identified as Peters, was asked to provide her ID.
“While retrieving her identification from her pursue, the investigating officer observed a small amount of marijuana in her purse and small glassine baggie containing orange pills in her lap,” a summary of the arrest said.
Police later identified the pills as ecstasy.
Peters was arrested and taken to headquarters to be processed and charged. She was released after posting a $1,000 bond. She is expect in court on Aug. 10.
