Langen Wins Two-Man Bobsled
CORTINA D’AMPEZZO, Italy (AP) _ Germany’s Christoph Langen scored his first victory of the season Saturday, beating Canada’s Pierre Leeds and Switzerland’s Ivo Ruegg in a two-man World Cup bobsled race.
Langen and pusher Markus Zimmermann had a combined time of 1 minute, 47.07 seconds. Lueders was 0.17 seconds back and Ruegg was 0.19 behind the winner.
Olympic champion Andre Lange of Germany, winner of Friday’s four-man makeup, finished fifth. The U.S. team of Todd Hays and Paul Jovanovic came in seventh.
Lueders remained first in the overall standings with 201 points, followed by Langen (197), Lange (183) and Hays (173). One more round of competition is left _ at Igls, Austria, on Feb. 14-15.
