LONDON (AP) — Despite a foot injury that has kept him out of Tottenham's opening three games, Gareth Bale has been included in the Wales squad for a pair of upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.

Bale is being pursued by Real Madrid for a reported world record transfer fee of about 100 million euros ($134 million). But the forward has not yet played for Tottenham this season because of what manager Andre Villas-Boas says is a foot injury.

Tottenham hasn't specified which foot is injured.

Bale has not attended Tottenham training so far this week, and has remained silent throughout the transfer saga.

Wales will host Macedonia on Sept. 6 and then travel to face Serbia four days later.
