LUDLOW, Vt. (AP) — A tractor-trailer crash has destroyed a home in a Vermont area known as "Terrible Mountain."

Ludlow Police Sgt. Richard King says the crash happened in Ludlow Tuesday afternoon when the truck tried to turn with failing brakes.

The turn caused thousands of pounds of pallets on the truck to shift, and the truck flipped on its side.

The crash sent the pallets into the first floor of a home that had five people inside.

Police say one person in the home has been hospitalized with a broken wrist, and the driver of the truck was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The home was destroyed, and the front porch of another home was also damaged.

King says "Terrible Mountain" has seen three crashes in the past 14 years, all involving tractor-trailers.
