Indiana Digital Learning School Grows Career Prep Programs for the 2018-19 School Year

August 1, 2018

MODOC, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug 1, 2018--Students and teachers at Indiana Digital Learning School (INDLS) will start the 2018-2019 school year on August 9. A full-time, tuition-free online public school, INDLS is open to students in grades K-11 throughout the state. The school will expand to offer grades K-12 for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Kicking off its second year of operation, INDLS provides each student with a personalized learning experience. Beginning this year, INDLS middle and high school students will have the opportunity to take Career Technical Education (CTE) courses through the school’s Destinations program. The CTE program introduces students to specialty trade skills through online courses in fields of business management, finance, health science and marketing.

“We’re thrilled to grow our CTE program this year,” said Head of School Elizabeth Sliger. “There are skilled jobs waiting to be filled in Indiana and beyond. Our goal is to prepare students for a bright future by offering them a high-quality curriculum and exposure to future career opportunities.”

The school combines innovative technology with a rigorous curriculum led by Indiana certified teachers. Students take a full course load across the core subjects of math, science, language arts, history, art and music, as well as a variety of electives at the high school level.

INDLS staff facilitate lessons during live, interactive online classes. In addition, the dedicated teachers offer one-on-one instruction, online chat sessions and family phone calls to build close partnerships with parents and students to support academic success. The online platform enables students to enjoy a safe learning environment, and connect with classmates and teachers from across the state.

Throughout the year, INDLS builds a sense of community through in-person field trips, community service opportunities and social outings. Virtual clubs and student organizations also allow students to further explore their interests together in the online setting.

INDLS is accepting application for enrollment for the 2018-19 school year. Families are encouraged to attend an online or in-person information session hosted by the school.
