KMW and Dali Wireless Announce Partnership and Completion of Interopability Testing

MENLO PARK, Calif. & FULLERTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb 20, 2019--Dali Wireless and KMW, two innovators in RAN technology and solutions, today announced the companies are working together to provide mobile network operators with more Open RAN options for micro cellular and other outdoor applications. The companies have been working together since the summer of 2018 to certify interoperability between KMW’s advanced remote radio units and Dali’s Open RAN virtual fronthaul solutions.

Dali’s vFI™ transforms the traditional fronthaul architecture into a multipoint-to-multipoint network that is driven by software and fully embraces the Open RAN and SD-RAN trends. Dali vFI aims to be the first solution that offers mobile network operators the ability to seamlessly marry different vendor’s baseband and remote unit products together, regardless of the functional splits and transport protocols deployed in their networks. Dali has a broad ecosystem of vBBU partners and KMW is the first remote radio head vendor to join the Dali Open RAN ecosystem.
