Citywide snow emergency starts tonight

The National Weather Service expects a winter storm to move through the southeastern Wisconsin area from 9 o’clock this morning through noon Wednesday.

Total snow accumulations of 5-8 inches are expected.

To assist the Watertown Street Department in its plowing and cleanup efforts, the Watertown Police Department has declared a citywide snow emergency that will go into effect at 11 o’clock tonight. The snow emergency will run for 48 hours. During the 48-hour period of the snow emergency, parking on all city streets and alleys will be banned between 11 p.m. and 7 o’clock the following morning.

Any vehicle that has been ticketed and remains parked at the same location for 24 or more hours afterward may be towed at the owner’s expense.
