Colgate 78, Cornell 61

HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) _ Tucker Neale scored 26 points to become Colgate’s career scoring leader as the Red Raiders defeated Cornell 78-61 Monday night.

Neale’s 10-foot jump shot with 5:26 remaining in the game moved him past Mike Ferrara, who had 1,763 career points.

Mike Roberts and Neale each scored five points as Colgate (6-11) opened the game with an 18-4 run. The Red Raiders employed a full-court press to build a 25-8 lead on a free throw by Malik Cupid with 11:38 left in the half.

Cornell (7-7) came back behind Brandt Schuckman’s nine points to cut the lead to 34-30 at halftime.

Colgate took a 45-35 lead on a basket by Malik Cupid 4:40 into the second half, but Cornell came back to make it 51-47 on Schuckman’s 3-pointer with 10:01 to play.

Colgate responded with an 8-2 run to push the lead to 59-49 with 6:25 remaining.

Schuckman and Eddie Samuel led Cornell with 18 points each.

Roberts had 13 points and Tim Bollin 11 for Colgate.
