LONDON (AP) _ Lord Wakeham, a former director of Enron Corp., will not return to his job as chairman of the Press Complaints Commission, the media watchdog announced Monday.

Wakeham vacated the post on Jan. 31. He resigned as a non-executive director of Enron on Feb. 13.

The Press Standards Board of Finance Ltd., which funds the Press Complaints Commission, said Wakeham's release would be effective Sept. 1, when a successor would be appointed.

The Press Complaints Commission is a voluntary, self-regulatory organization run by Britain's major newspapers.
