Restaurant Diners Told: ‘You Cook It’

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) _ Robert McFarlane has stopped any complaints about the cooking in his Glasgow restaurant, The Trading Post.

Customers are handed a chef’s hat, a recipe book and the raw ingredients of their meal and told to cook it themselves.

″Customers really enjoy eating here,″ manager Donna Basnett said Sunday.

″If they have any problems with the cooking, our staff are on hand to give them a few tips,″ she said.

McFarlane said he owns a chain of pubs and discos and could afford to experiment. But he says he’s had no complaints.

″The customers were a bit surprised at first but now they think it’s fun,″ he said. ″One told me he didn’t mind what he had to do so long as he didn’t have to wash the dishes.″
