Edward Kruse, 85, Loganville
Edward E. Kruse, 85, of Loganville, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City.
He was born June 11, 1933, at his family home in Loganville; the son of Edwin E. and Minnie (Schulte) Kruse. Edward was a 1951 graduate of Reedsburg High School. On Aug. 2, 1955, he was united in marriage to Donna Fae (Giese).
Edward was a true farmer who continued the Kruse family operation through a century farm celebration. He was passionate about his field work, Holstein cows, spotted swine, and especially his family. He used and collected Oliver tractors. From 1957 to 1959, Edward served in the United States Army. From the ’60s-80s he served on the board of Dairy Herd Improvement Association Heart Of America, Dodge-Saunders, Holstein Breeders, Swine Breeders, Pork Producers of Sauk County, and Sauk County Farm Bureau. He also served as president of the Wisconsin Spotted Swine Breeders Association. Although he enjoyed helping the local community by serving on the above committees; he was most at home on an Oliver tractor, in the field, tending to the farm. Life didn’t need to be complicated, treat others fairly and you will receive fairness in return.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Fae; their children, Sharon Glade, Scott Kruse, Keith (Arlis) Kruse, Mark (Heidi) Kruse; several grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Slick, and Jean Engel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at Emanuel United Methodist Church, 101 14th St., Baraboo. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the church.
