Man, 71, fatally injured in Mass. crash
READING, Mass. (AP) — State police say a 71-year-old man has been fatally injured after being struck by a car while in the breakdown lane of Interstate 95 in Reading and a woman has been charged with operating while impaired in connection with the crash.
Troopers found the man with life-threatening injuries on the side of the road around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday. He was taken to a hospital where he died. The identity of the Wakefield resident has not been disclosed.
Thirty-two-year-old Mary Grigoriadis of Brockton was arrested at the scene. She has been charged with operating under the influence of alcohol is being held on $10,000 bail. It was not immediately known if she had a lawyer.
State police say the man and Grigoriadis were the only occupants of their vehicles.
