Longmont to Close Golden Ponds Parking Lot for Repaving
The parking lot at Longmont’s Golden Ponds Nature Area, 2651 Third Ave., will be closed from 7 a.m. Aug. 9 until 6 p.m. Aug. 10 for asphalt rehabilitation and a new pavement overlay, weather permitting.
City officials announced Monday that Golden Ponds, its shelter and its restrooms will be remain open to the public those two days, with parking available along the south side of Third Avenue Place.
A sidewalk just east of Golden Ponds’ main parking lot will allow visitors to enter the Nature Area and bypass the parking lot construction zone, officials said.
Visitors also can access Golden Ponds by foot or bicycle from Roger’s Grove Nature Area or Lykins Gulch Greenway, both of which both connect to the St. Vrain Greenway along Golden Ponds.
