SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan 31, 2019--OODA Health, a San Francisco VC-funded company focused on removing waste and inefficiency from healthcare administration, today announced that co-founder and CTO Usama Fayyad will be presenting at the  Silicon Slopes Tech Summit  in Salt Lake City on Thursday, January 31. More details are listed below. OODA Health’s Salt Lake City office, which opened in early 2017, serves as the company’s technology and engineering hub. OODA Health recently closed a $40.5M Series A funding round from DFJ and OAK HC/FT.

Silicon Slopes Tech Summit is a globally recognized two-day summit organized and hosted by the Silicon Slopes organization. With some of the most prominent and leading minds in the technology industry taking the stage, Silicon Slopes Tech Summit is one of the largest and most prominent annual tech events in the world, bringing out more than 20,000 attendees.

Session Overview:

In this talk, Dr. Fayyad will cover Pragmatic Artificial Intelligence (AI) and discuss both the history of what worked, why it worked and how it worked. While the hype would have you believe the technology is mature and ready, only certain parts of AI/ML work. In fact, claims of general AI and machine learning should be considered harmful. The general pattern in making the technology work is to have the right data in place, and lots of it! This leads to the important role of data and how big data plays a big role in making AI work. Fayyad will also include case studies from chatbots, cybersecurity, and healthcare.
