2 fights at Kankakee H.S. lead to five arrests

KANKAKEE — Five students at Kankakee High School were arrested for disorderly conduct in connection with two fights in the school’s cafeteria on Thursday.

According to Kankakee police, at 8:47 a.m. an officer was dispatched to the school in regard to a fight that involved three juveniles. The fight was regarding a social media post. All three were taken to the police station where they were charged and released to parents.

An officer was dispatched at 9:58 a.m. for a fight that involved two juvenile girls.

According to a report, the officer viewed video that showed one student waiting in the cafeteria while talking on the phone. The other student charged and attacked her. The victim defended herself.

One of the two students additionally was charged with battery.

Both students were released to their parents.
