American Standard Considers New Officers
NEW YORK (AP) _ American Standard Inc. said Monday that William B. Boyd will be nominated as its chief executive and William G. Roth as its president at its May 2 meeting.
William A. Marquard, chairman and chief executive, said the moves were part of the company’s management succession plan.
Marquard said he would recommend that Boyd, who is currently president and chief operating officer, be selected as vice chairman of the board as well as chief executive. Keith D. Bunnel is retiring as vice chairman after 20 years with the company.
Marquard said he will recommend that Roth replace Boyd as chief operating officer as well as president. Roth is chairman and chief executive of Trane, which was acquired by American-Standard in early 1984 and is now its air conditioning products segment.
Under the succession plan, Marquard would remain as chairman of the board and become chairman of its executive committee.
American Standard has interests in building, transportation, graphic and security products.
