Ashland woman dies in fire

December 2, 2018

ASHLAND — One person is dead after a house fire broke out just before noon Saturday in the 2700 block of Montgomery Avenue in Ashland.

According to Ashland Fire Chief Greg Ray, an 84-year-old woman died in the fire.

Two other people were in the house but were not injured.

Ray said the fire is under investigation, but at this time the cause of the fire appears to be a gas heater that was in close proximity to some stored items.
