Police: Girl abducted, sexually assaulted on way to school

October 9, 2018

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (AP) — Police in northern Virginia are looking for a man they say sexually assaulted a girl after abducting her as she walked to school.

Prince William County Police say the girl was walking Tuesday morning on Essex Road in Woodbridge when an unknown man grabbed her.

Police say the man then forced his way into a nearby home and assaulted a woman who lived there before fleeing with the girl.

According to police, the man then took the girl to another location and sexually assaulted her before releasing her.

The abduction prompted three schools in the area — Woodbridge Middle, Vaughn Elementary and Marumsco Hills Elementary, to implement additional security measures Tuesday.
