ST. LOUIS (AP) _ The St. Louis Blues acquired defenseman Kent Carlson from the Montreal Canadiens organization on Friday in exchange for a minor league player and a draft choice, the National Hockey League club said.
St. Louis traded defenseman Graham Herring and their fifth-round draft choice in the 1986 entry draft to get the 6-foot-3, 210-pound Carlson, who also plays left wing, a Blues spokesman said.
Carlson, 24, was expected to join the Blues on Friday in Detroit for a game with the Red Wings. He scored 11 goals and added 15 assists in 35 games for Montreal’s Sherbrooke farm club this year and appeared in three games with the Canadiens, scoring no points.
Herring has been with the Blues’ farm club at Peoria this year, where he had one goal and nine assists in 35 games.
