Friendly Sons To Install New President At Annual Dinner

A cardiologist will be installed as president of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Lackawanna County at the society’s upcoming dinner. W. David FitzPatrick, M.D., will become 2020 president at the conclusion of the Friendly Sons’ 114th annual dinner on March 16 at Genetti Manor in Dickson City, said Christopher O. McGrath, president of the association. FitzPatrick is a graduate of Scranton Preparatory School and the University of Scranton. He earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Maryland Medical System and a fellowship in cardiology at Dartmouth University, Hanover, New Hampshire. FitzPatrick is a cardiologist and partner in Great Valley Cardiology Associates. He has four medical board certifications. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a former chairman of medicine and president of the medical staff at Regional Hospital, Scranton. He was the founding director of the Commonwealth Health Heart and Vascular Institute. He is active in Catholic Church and community affairs and athletics. He lives with his wife, the former Mary Cestone, in Dalton and they are the parents of three children.
