A South Jersey woman stole money meant for hurricane victims. Now, she’s headed to jail - for a day
A Camden woman who twice obtained money meant for storm victims by forging application documents was told she has to spend a day in jail and pay back $52,390 she pilfered from the government, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.
Shanyra Bennett 40, appeared before U.S. District Judge Jerome B. Simandle in Camden, where she had previously pleaded guilty to one count of fraud related to disaster benefits.
