RUDYARD, Mont. (AP) _ People in Rudyard, Montana, have more to think about this election season than legislators and county officials.
The town is holding a special election to fill the post of ``Old Sore Head.″
For decades, people visiting Rudyard have been greeted with a highway sign that says: ``RUDYARD: 596 Nice People -- One Old Sore Head!″
Who exactly the ``Old Sore Head″ is has been an ongoing joke since the sign was posted in the mid 1960s. Now, residents have decided to make the title official.
To vote, people in Rudyard can buy an ``Old Sore Head″ button for five dollars. Additional vote tickets are a dollar. Profits will support Rudyard’s museum and memorial park.
Election results will be announced June 29.
