ANSONIA — A driver crashed through a rock wall and landed in someone’s front yard in the early morning hours of Saturday, Ansonia Fire Police officials said.

Shortly before 2 a.m., someone who officials said was unfamiliar with the area was driving on Route 243 in Ansonia when they crashed through the wall and ended up in the front yard of a residence.

Several fire units were dispatched to the site of the crash.

“Upon arrival the driver was out of the vehicle and no extrication was needed,” officials said. The driver only needed minimal medical attention.

Crews were at the scene from around 2 a.m. until roughly 3:30 a.m. Ansonia Fire Police provided traffic management until all units cleared.

“An early morning wake up for most of the first responders,” officials quipped.
